The words discount and Paris do not really seem to go together. Anyone who has tried to plan a Paris vacation knows that Paris is a very expensive city. With the advent of the Euro, already high prices are even higher. There is hope for the money savvy traveler though because there are actually discount Paris vacations available. Doing research is the real key to finding discount Paris vacations.


Most large city newspapers have a travel section in the Sunday newspaper. Not only do articles help you to find inexpensive ways to visit Paris but travel agencies advertise discount Paris vacation packages. Especially during the off seasons, hotels and airlines will offer packages at discount prices to attract those tourists who do not have the deep pockets to splurge and fly first class and stay in a four star hotel.

Another way to find great discount Paris vacations is to search the Internet. This can be time consuming, but the savings can be worth the work. Some sites to look at are Priceline, Expedia, Travelocity, and Orbitz. There are many more so a search for discount travel sites might be another way to go. Just be sure to check up on any travel site that sounds too good to be true. Many people have been ripped off by fly by night travel agencies. No pun intended. These agencies offer extremely discounts, receive your money, and then disappear. Be careful of any agency that will not use PayPal or credit cards. When you use these pay sources, you will be able to get your money back most of the time.

Don’t wait until travel time if you haven’t heard back from your travel agency. If you have any questions, call the airline and the hotel where you are booked to make sure that your name is on the reservation lists. If you are still not satisfied, contact your credit card agency or PayPal and ask for chargeback. Of course, before you make this huge step, call the Travel Agency to see is there is some mistake. Give them 24 hours to fix the problems and let them know that you are planning to contact your credit card company or PayPal. If the problem is not fixed to your satisfaction, don’t hesitate to go through with your complaint. Some agencies may ask for a certified check. If you pay this way, there is little to no recourse. Almost everyone take PayPal or credit cards. Buyer beware.

There are many discount Paris vacations. Be savvy and do your research and the perfect but inexpensive Paris vacation can be yours.
